In the penultimate week of Term 3, the sunshine returned, some of us took our dogs out to hunt for orchids and at 国标麻豆视频APP, we took time to enjoy a Rosh Hashanah seder with the children in Year 4 and their families. White tablecloths and beautiful table settings added to the occasion; we enjoyed fresh, round challot and juicy apples to dip in honey.

I was proud that I recalled most of the symbolism of the foods in front of us and again relieved that the fish heads were baked rather than real. The children responded to discussion-provoking questions about what they were looking forward to in the new year, what they are aiming to get better at and whether it鈥檚 easier to be a follower or a leader. That one caused some very interesting discussions!

The ever-popular final Kahoot revealed the existence of some very competitive Carmel parents, some of whom I swear must have been revising hard for this opportunity. I was personally gutted to get three out of 25 answers wrong, but the children had clearly encountered some fabulous educators and really knew their stuff.

A seder is always a lovely way to start the day and we were grateful to the staff who set up such a valuable and enjoyable learning experience for our families.

A very happy new year to Carmel families and community.May your new year be full of hope and sweetness.

Shana tova.
